For Whom the Bell Tolls: Europe After Brexit Sold Out
So much has been said about the effect of Brexit on Ireland and the UK, but what about other countries in Europe such as the Netherlands, for example? Does this bring a United States of Europe closer, quicker? Will it mean a common budget and the end of Ireland’s and other member states’ jiggery-pokery and a banking union, not to mention a common foreign policy and all that means? Could Europe now split on a north-south/ east-west fractures or both or will the existential threat posed by Brexit and the solidarity with small countries help bind it together into ever closer union?
