The End of Globalisation? What’s Next?
There was a time when globalisation seemed the only game in town and the inevitable endgame of all global economics. But strongman economics, trade wars, nativist governments, geo-political turmoil and the pandemic have changed the game. Sanctions are here; tariff barriers loom, supply chains have been trashed and the biggest energy crisis since the 1970s, spurred by Putin’s war on Ukraine, appears to be upon us. Is this a blip or the beginning of a new, more-inward looking era?
