Will we miss the Brits when it’s all over and done? While we are obsessed about Brexit, much of Europe has moved on, dealing with much bigger issues such as mass immigration, Italy’s budget worries, democratic deficit in the institutions, rising populism in central and Eastern Europe, Mrs Merkel on her last hurrah and Putin continues, ahead of the European elections in June, to stoke unrest across the continent. All the while, France pushes for more integration, corporation tax harmonisation and an EU budget. Our panel looks at what the EU future holds without Britain, in what is the last collective bastion of liberal democracy.
